Our
Story

The Clark Neighbors Food Project was started by a group of local community volunteers.

The Clark Neighbors Food Project (CNFP) was started in the Clark County area in Summer 2017 based on a model originally developed in Ashland Oregon in 2009. The objective was to make it easy for people to donate food to local food pantries. The originators realized that many of their neighbors wanted to help fight hunger in their community, but for one reason or another, never get around to it. So, they adopted a simple, door-to-door food collection system to enable people to pitch in. Thus it became a donor drive as opposed to a food drive.

CNFP’s first collection consisted of only 4 volunteers who collected about 400 pounds of food in the Truman Neighborhood.  Since then, they started Ridgefield Neighbors Food Project (RNFP) and have expanded to neighborhoods across Clark County. Today the two food projects have over 100 Neighborhood Coordinators and 2,000 food donors and are growing daily!  Since that humble beginning the project has collected over 490,000 pounds of food for local food pantries and schools programs.

We are currently providing food to FISH Westside Food Pantry of Vancouver; Neighbors Helping Neighbors, Ridgefield; East Vancouver Community Church Food Pantry, Cascade Park; F.I.S.H. of Orchards; North County Community Food Bank, Battle Ground; and Inter-Faith Treasure House, Camas-Washougal.

As we grow into more parts of Clark County, we will add local food pantries who serve those neighborhoods.
